Sufjan Stevens: Songs for Christmas

Christmas celebrations in the Moffitt household are not complete without Sufjan Steven’s first Christmas collection: five short albums recorded over 7 years containing classic carols, hymns and his own original Christmas songs.

I think we can thank Sufjan and his Christmas music for the resurgence of the banjo and young people singing ‘Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing’.

Matt’s favourite song (because it beautifully captures the melancholy of both Christmas and Advent song): That Was the Worst Christmas Ever
Alison’s favourite song: Lo! How a Rose E’re Blooming

Purchase at Asthmatic Kitty Records
Stream at Bandcamp
