Stars and Lights: Epiphany Origami

‘Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage.’

Hey guys! It’s nearly Epiphany! Time to make some stars.

You Will Need

  • Multiple pieces of square paper in any size you prefer. We made small stars out of 6x6cm squares
  • Double sided tape or glue (sorry origami purists!)
  • Twine or blu-tack for hanging your stars

As a kid, I really loved making these 5 pointed stars, because they were achievable. If you are looking for a challenge, try these 6 point or 8 point modular stars. Click the links for instructions.

If you are looking for some simple origami that keeps your hands busy but doesn’t require complicated mathematical thinking to assemble at the end, you could try dressing up some fairy lights with some paper balloons. They look amazing.
